INTERIOR DECOR ON A BUDGET - FINISHING TOUCHES

There is something about spring that brings out the interior designer in me. Now don't get me wrong, i don't have a qualification in interior design. However, i have had a passion for it & watched programmes such as HOME FRONT as a young adult. That qualifies me, right?

As the owner of what can only be described as a poky Barratt house, for the ten years we have owned the property it has evolved into a more chilled domain when it comes to decor. I used to love such trends as two bright colours separated by a gaudy paper border in the middle or thinking that moss green & terracotta orange went together perfectly. I'm showing my age now!

Above is a collection of just a few of my favourite items that i have found whilst researching for what i call, "things to titivate" my bedroom. I know how costly it can be when looking to update/refurbish/redecorate a room, so i thought i would share one of my favourite places to source those little finishing touches.

Yes i drool over expensive interiors websites, i even glance admiringly into the windows of Zara Home & Next. However, even these moderately priced shops are sometimes out of reach when you are trying to update a house on a budget. So where, i hear you cry can i get affordable yet beautiful homewares? My store of choice for little treasures such as those above is B&M.

You can pick up anything from a cushion & curtains to a greenhouse & everything in between. The best thing is that the prices are amazing! Take the ornate bevelled mirror above. It's only £19.99! I do not work for B&M, although a staff discount would be handy as i spend so much in there. I just wanted to share my little secret with you all that making a house a home doesn't have to cost the earth.

Other stores i use to source affordable homewares is Wilkos & Matalan. You can actually see quite a few of their items in my living room tour video.

What room are you decorating next? Leave me a comment below & tell me all about your ideas, i'd love to hear them. xxx

Items shown in title picture: Wooden heart basket £2.99, Felicity rosebud heart cushion £2.99, Glass jar with heart lid £1.99, Printed heart fish bowl £3.99,  3 hanging hearts frame £2.99
