The Body Shop - Spa of the World

Having been a Manager previously for a Spa company, i can't tell you how excited i was to receive an invitation from the the gorgeous Michelle who is the Manager of The Body Shop in The Coppergate Shopping Centre in York to see the new Spa of the World range. I have been thoroughly surprised by The Body Shops launches over the past year or so. Firstly their wonderful Italian Summer Fig launch which for me is just a mediterranean holiday in a bottle & now my favourite product in all the world, a spa range! Can't you tell i'm just overflowing with excitement about it all.

So, after a lovely family day out in the beautiful city of York i made my way to Coppergate in York to meet the very talented Rachel from 'Notes from the city'. We just about had time for a cheeky little Nero & then headed over to The Body Shop for the Bloggers Event.

Upon our arrival we were greeted & offered a glass of something bubbly & made our way to to the back of the store where a stunning display of the NEW Spa of the World was waiting for us. We were told about each & every product as it was passed around the room for us to smell & test should we wish. There was a lot of ooing & ahing at this point as the smells & textures awakened everyones senses. My personal favourite was the Blissful Ritual which reminded me of that authentic Spa smell. Sheer bliss.

Following the presentation we were split into groups & had mini presentations from individual staff members on makeup, skin & of course the new spa range. I had an eye makeover from resident makeup artist Nicole using the Colour Crush eyeshadow in Blackcurrant Affair. She really knew her stuff about the products & how to apply them & is currently studying for a Media Makeup Degree. The colour made my green eyes pop a treat & i made a mental note of the colour in case a sneaky purchase was in order.

Next for my group was skincare with Karen who told us about the ranges & advised on which range would suit each of our skin types. I was especially taken with the Nutriganics range which felt so cooling on the skin.

Finally our group had it's turn with Angela & Abbie over on the spa table. We had our arms pampered, scrubbed & massaged with the products & i can't lie, after the long day walking around York with the family & a couple of glasses of prosecco at the event i was ever so slightly nodding off at the relaxing hand massage & the aromatic scents of the spa range. Pure heaven. The New Spa Of The World range makes it possible for you to turn your own bathroom into a spa & transport you away from the stresses & strains of every day life at just a fraction of the cost & i'm sure it will be another hit for them out of their many successful launches of late.

I then mingled with the other bloggers, had a bite to eat courtesy of Bagel Nash & had a wander around the store looking at & smelling some old favourites & it was then that i realised just how much the Body Shop has moved with the times & evolved as a brand. I remembered Fleurs review of the Wild Argan Oil range last year. Also this years launches have all blown me away.

Although i haven't tried their makeup in the past i was left wondering WHY? I must of assumed that The Body Shop was all about body products i suppose, but if you are reading this & have never used their makeup i urge you to pop in & speak to their makeup expert in store. They really don't get enough credit for their makeup range & i for one would love to try much more of it.

All that was left to do then was to shop of course. I am a woman & a blogger so what more of an excuse do i need. I mean this shiz needs reviewing right ;) On the night i picked up the gorgeous Colour Crush eyeshadow in Blackcurrant affair, the Honey Bronzer, a super cute Strawberry Hand Cream for Amelia my 7 year old to pop in her handbag & some Maca Root Shave Cream for Mr Dyble as he has been complaining of a sore chin of late after shaving.

When i was at the counter paying for my goodies i was shocked but delighted to be presented with a coppergate shopping centre cloth bag cram packed full of goodies. Just look at this lot, i mean how generous of The Body Shop!

All in all i had a fabulous evening & the girls at the Coppergate store made me feel so welcome & filled me with knowledge about so many of their fabulous ranges. If like me you are getting on a bit(shh!) you'll remember your first fruity love affair with The Body Shop. Well guess what, i'm in love once again :)
